New president for CAAV South Wales and Monmouthshire

The South Wales and Monmouthshire branch of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) has appointed Chris Hyde as its new president for twelve months from April 2019. Chris, who is Associate Director with Cooke & Arkwright’s Land Agency, was inaugurated at an event at the St Brides Hotel and Spa in Saundersfoot on Friday 17th May 2019.

Chris’s role as president will run alongside other responsibilities he has with the CAAV within the Wales Group Committee and the CAAV Examination Committee. Chris is the tutorial organiser for the Wales Group CAAV and is an examiner with Wales & West Midlands CAAV board of examiners.

The CAAV represents valuers and provides advice on a wide variety of matters affecting the countryside to Government in Westminster, Whitehall, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Brussels, including CAP reform, farm tenancies and agri-environment schemes.

Chris’s role with Cooke & Arkwright’s Land Agency involves selling, acquiring, managing and advising on farms, rural properties and land in Wales and the UK. He is responsible for the day to day management of a number of rural estates across South Wales and England, including Earl of Plymouth Estates.
