Cooke & Arkwright have raised nearly £3500 for cancer charity Velindre, through a series of events and fundraising activities.

We have organised several bake sales and other events, with staff members contributing baked treats and other goodies to sell to colleagues and visitors. In addition, Emma Crouch, ran the Race for Life, a sponsored charity run in aid of Cancer Research UK.

“We're delighted to have raised such a significant amount for Velindre,” said Andrew Gardner, Managing Director of Cooke & Arkwright. “It's a cause that's close to the hearts of many of our staff members, and we're proud to have been able to make a contribution to their important work.”

Velindre is a specialist cancer treatment centre based in Cardiff, providing care and support to cancer patients and their families across South Wales. The charity relies on donations and fundraising efforts to continue its vital work.

“We're extremely grateful to Cooke & Arkwright for their support,” said Amy from Velindre. “Every penny raised will help us to provide the best possible care to our patients, and to fund research into new treatments and therapies.”

The disposal of 120,000 square feet on the Heads of the Valleys Industrial Estate was a particularly satisfying task. The building had been rebuilt following fire damage, and Jeremy Symons and his team were successful in identifying a nearby purchaser looking to expand. The sale price, at £4,000,000, represented a record sale price for a property of this nature in the area, and with great tenacity and endeavour was completed in a timely fashion. An excellent result.
