Acting on behalf of Cannon Capital Developments Ltd, Cooke & Arkwright, together with joint agents Savills, have advised on the disposal of the former HMRC offices site at Ty Glas, Cardiff to Cardiff Council.

The site, which is a major land mark in North Cardiff, totals around 19 acres and has over 500,000 sq.ft. of offices in a series of major blocks.

The Chairman of Cooke & Arkwright, Michael Lawley who brokered the disposal with Cardiff Council commented, “This was a good deal for both sides.

“It enabled Cannondale to exit the site in an orderly manner following the vacation of the site by HMRC after a long period of occupation, and it gave Cardiff Council the opportunity to secure a major redevelopment opportunity for educational purposes in North Cardiff, where there would normally be a dearth of such sites.

“We were pleased to be involved in this transaction on such a high profile site.”

The Leekes Retail and Leisure Group have substantial property assets within the group and have engaged Andrew West to appeal against rating assessments on these properties since 2010. We have consistently been impressed by Andrew's knowledge of the property market and his negotiating skills have been exceptional. Given Andrew's outstanding performance, we would not hesitate to recommend Andrew to any business large or small seeking to appeal their rates liabilities.
