The land, which forms part of the former Tower surface mine, is now available to lease due to it no longer forming part of the medium-term development plans for Hargreaves.
The site is located on Rhigos Road adjacent to Hirwaun Industrial Estate and easily accessible from Cardiff via the A470 dual carriageway and the M4, whilst the A465 provides good links to West Wales as well as the M the Midlands via the M5 and A40.
Commenting on the merits of the land, Lee Weatherall, planning and development manager at Hargreaves Land, said: “This is a well-located site which is predominantly hard core surface, with a concrete access route running along the eastern perimeter. The site could be sub-divided to accommodate smaller requirements and could be used for a number of storage compound uses, subject to planning.”
Rhys Price of Cooke & Arkwright added: “Despite the pandemic, the industrial sector is performing robustly, and we are continuing to see good levels of demand. The site at Rhigos Road is well placed to accommodate both short and long-term requirements, providing good quality open air storage compounds on a flexible basis”.
