Capgemini has acquired almost 10,000 sq ft of new offices on the ground and first floors at 3 Fairway Court in Treforest as part of a £17m investment in expansion in Wales supported by the Welsh Government. The global consulting, technology and outsourcing services firm, which has had a presence in Wales since 1998, will create 100 new skilled jobs over the next three years. The Treforest site will be its UK centre to deliver security sensitive projects for both public and private sector contracts. Cooke & Arkwright acted for the landlord L&N Property in the deal.

Mark Siddons, Surveyor with Cooke & Arkwright’s Business Space team said, “Fairway Court provides generous on-site parking with quality accommodation in an attractive setting. Its proximity via the A470 to Cardiff, Pontypridd, Merthyr Tydfil and the M4, providing an ideal location outside of Cardiff. The letting to Capgemini brings the office accommodation of around 30,000 sq ft at Fairway Court to full occupation.”

The disposal of 120,000 square feet on the Heads of the Valleys Industrial Estate was a particularly satisfying task. The building had been rebuilt following fire damage, and Jeremy Symons and his team were successful in identifying a nearby purchaser looking to expand. The sale price, at £4,000,000, represented a record sale price for a property of this nature in the area, and with great tenacity and endeavour was completed in a timely fashion. An excellent result.
