Cooke & Arkwright have been recognised as the Agency Team of the Year at the Insider Wales Property Awards 2017, just a few months after being named by Estates Gazette as the Most Active Agent in Wales. The award is recognition of the strength of the firm’s combined retail, office, industrial, development and investment agency teams, and the hardwork of all the team members.

In the award ceremony in Cardiff on 29th June 2017, the team saw off strong competition from a shortlist of national and local commercial property agency teams to win the Agency Team of the Year award.  The panel of judges described Cooke & Arkwright as a “high impact firm with strong Welsh roots”.  In 2016 and 2017, Cooke & Arkwright have advised clients on some of the most high profile and significant deals in Wales.  This is combined with deep market knowledge resulting from the team’s unrivalled scale and geographical reach in Wales, with agency instructions from Bangor in the north to Cardiff in the south and Aberystwyth in the west to Knighton in the east.

Chairman, Michael Lawley said, “We are delighted to win this award, which recognises the firm’s strength as the largest independent commercial property specialist in Wales. The scale and the reach of the business, with its spread of instructions across Wales, allow us to provide what we confidently believe to be the best market intelligence and property expertise available in the region.”

Managing Director Andrew Gardner commented, “This is excellent news and recognition of the hard work and strong team ethos across our agency teams.  They work hard together to deliver great results for clients, and we are delighted to see their efforts recognised in this way.”

Mansford has expanded its investment portfolio over the last few years. Over this time Andrew West has provided us with a full rating valuation service which has involved giving a view on liabilities prior to acquisitions, as well as conducting negotiations with Valuation Officers on our UK estate. The portfolio includes a wide range of properties from shops, offices and pubs to major leisure schemes. He has been particularly successful in mitigating our liabilities to empty property rate, which has been an issue on acquisition prior to implementing our development and letting strategy. I have no hesitation in recommending Andrew's expertise in rating valuation for all property types. The profile of property within his portfolio and the successes achieved are testament to his position as an extremely accomplished rating practitioner.
