As part of the firm's commitment, Director Ben Bolton visited the hospice on 14th July to present a £400 donation on behalf of colleagues at the business. Staff will also be volunteering at the charity's Forever Flowers event at Cardiff Castle in August.
The support forms part of Cooke & Arkwright's wider commitment to giving back to communities across Wales through fundraising, volunteering and charitable initiatives. During the past year, the firm has also supported a variety of charities including bigmoose; the Welsh mental health charity, Cost of Cancer; which helps people facing financial hardship following a cancer diagnosis and Brecknock Federation of Young Farmers Clubs; a rural youth organisation.
In addition to fundraising, Cooke & Arkwright colleagues will be lending their time to support the charity's annual Forever Flowers event, which returns to Cardiff Castle this summer. The event provides a special opportunity for people to celebrate and remember the lives of loved ones through a stunning display of more than 1,000 handcrafted metal pink poppies created by the British Ironwork Centre.
Ben Bolton, Director at Cooke & Arkwright, said, "City Hospice is an incredibly important charity that supports people and families across Cardiff when they need it most. We are pleased to play a small part in helping the organisation continue its valuable work. Supporting charities such as City Hospice means a great deal to our team, and we're proud to contribute to causes that make a real difference in our communities."
Tracey Simpson, Corporate Relationship Manager at City Hospice said, “We’re incredibly grateful for this generous donation and the time the Cooke & Arkwright team will be giving through volunteer hours, to support our work.”
The Forever Flowers display will take place at Cardiff Castle from 1 to 8 August, raising vital funds for City Hospice while providing a place of remembrance and reflection for visitors.
