With homeworking now prevalent in many industries I write to recommend you contact your local authority, preferably in writing, notifying them of the date from which you vacated your building in order to undertake safe homeworking.

From the date the building becomes vacant you will enjoy exemption from empty property rate : 3 months for offices and shops and 6 months for factories and warehouses.

When contacting the local authority please quote your rate account number.
