Cooke & Arkwright is advising the Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies on options to acquire 30,000 sq ft office space for new headquarters within the city centre. The school is part of Cardiff University offering graduate and post-graduate courses in international and broadcast journalism, and political communication. Currently based at the campus in Bute Building on King Edward VII Avenue, it is considering a number of potential alternative locations.

Ben Bolton, Director of Business Space comments: “Cooke & Arkwright have been instructed to work with Cardiff University to consider the long-term home of the School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies. We are currently working closely together to explore all the possible options and no decisions have been made.”

The disposal of 120,000 square feet on the Heads of the Valleys Industrial Estate was a particularly satisfying task. The building had been rebuilt following fire damage, and Jeremy Symons and his team were successful in identifying a nearby purchaser looking to expand. The sale price, at £4,000,000, represented a record sale price for a property of this nature in the area, and with great tenacity and endeavour was completed in a timely fashion. An excellent result.
