Rural Surveyor appointed to RICS Rural Professional Group Board

Busy year for Chris, who is also on the CAAV Examination Board

Chris Hyde, Associate Director with Land Agency, has been appointed to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveryors (RICS) Rural Professional Group Board for a period of three years. He brings ten years’ professional experience working within the rural sector at Cooke & Arkwright to the board, whose members have a cross section of competencies with a focus on standards, professional statements, market insight and regulation. Chris specialises in the day-to-day management of rural estates across South Wales and England, including Earl of Plymouth, Dingestow Court, Dunraven Estates and The Church in Wales. Significant deals include the sale of Sully Island off the Vale of Glamorgan coast by tender and Llanbrynean Farm in Brecon by private treaty. He has also valued Dingestow Court Estate for taxation purposes.

Chris comments, “I am delighted to have been appointed to the board, where we will work in partnership across the sectors covering rural estate management, agriculture, planning, valuation, asset management and auctioneering. The latter is currently a priority in my day to day work as we are preparing for our next big auction in April. As I am also a member of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) Examination Board, I am looking forward to a busy year. It’s part of my life and fortunately I enjoy every minute - the life of a Rural Surveyor is never boring!”
