New Opportunities Fund is the latest tenant to sign up at Number One Kingsway, the prestigious office building in the heart of Cardiff developed by the Co-operative Insurance Society. The Fund has taken 8,234 square feet on the top floor for fifteen years and joins influential tenants the Bank of Scotland, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Scottish Equitable and Inscape (part of Abbey National).
New Opportunities Fund is the largest Lottery Distributor in the UK, allocating funds to support health, education, and environmental projects. Ceri Doyle, the Fund’s Director in Wales, said, “The expansion of our base in Wales is part of our ongoing commitment to devolving more of our operations to Wales. We are delighted to have secured this prominent location in the centre of Cardiff, which both identifies our presence in the capital and provides excellent access to all of our stakeholders.”
Located opposite the Cardiff Hilton Hotel, Number One Kingsway enjoys spectacular views across Cardiff Castle and the Civic Buildings and features a full height atrium affording natural daylight throughout the building.
Ben Bolton of Cooke & Arkwright, who represents CIS and also acts as managing agent for the property, said that there was just one floor currently available to lease: the first, offering space from 4,500 to 10,200 square feet. He confirmed that the building has already attracted a high calibre of tenant. “Interest is being shown by a number of potential occupiers and we hope that the last floor will be taken soon, either as a whole or in part, which the landlord is happy to consider,” he said.
