A luxury new residential development with spectacular sea views overlooking Locks Common in Porthcawl has attracted a flurry of interest, with several apartments including two penthouses already spoken for well in advance of completion.

Locks Court is a development by Twenty20 Homes and Nigel Evans Property Group, a new regional developer of select homes across Wales.  The business was created by John Roberts, Paul Markey, Nigel Evans and David Walters, four of south Wales’ leading property figures.  Twenty20 Homes also has residential schemes underway in Tenby, Burry Port and Cyncoed.

According to joint selling agents Cooke & Arkwright and T Elwood Deere & Son, one four-bed penthouse and eight two-bed apartments remain available at Locks Court, which comprises three buildings named after local landmarks, Cove House, Locks Lodge and The Links.

“The location and high quality design of the accommodation was always going to guarantee a high level of interest and this has been confirmed by the early reservation of several apartments,” said Ryan Pratt of Cooke & Arkwright (pictured, left). “It’s worth pointing out that at this early stage in the development it is still possible for potential buyers of the remaining penthouse suite to have it made bespoke to suit their choice and lifestyle.”

Locks Court is a gated development with electronic entrance control and secure parking for 36 cars. Construction work began at the end of last year and the projected completion date is in 12 months time.

All apartments come with high end, quality fixtures and fittings and provide spacious open-plan kitchen-dining-living spaces with balconies overlooking the sea.  Bedrooms are all en-suite and have balconies overlooking courtyards and landscaped gardens.

“We select sites at some of Wales’ most desirable locations and Locks Common is one of the most outstanding,” said Paul Markey, Managing Director of Twenty20 Homes (pictured, right). “We have been careful to ensure that the design respects and complements the architecture of the surrounding area.”

Locks Court is well placed for a variety of leisure activities and watersports at the award winning sandy beaches and is within walking distance of the internationally renowned Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, which boasts a championship course and magnificent sea shore setting. Locks Common is a well known landmark at Hutchwns Point and is an area designated as a Site of Interest for Nature Conservation.

Situated at the western tip of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, Porthcawl is a popular seaside destination with fast and regular public transport links to Bridgend, Swansea, Cowbridge and Cardiff. The A48 provides easy access to the M4 and Cardiff Wales International Airport is 15 miles to the east.

Prices for the apartments start from £315,000.
