ITV Wales has acquired its site at Culverhouse Cross from owners United Business Media in a deal worth £18.5m. Cooke & Arkwright acted on behalf of United Business Media with joint agents Strutt & Parker, inviting bids from a range of property development companies. ITV Wales plans to create a new digital studio complex at the site, which extends to 135,000 sq ft.
ITV Wales has been at Culverhouse Cross since 1984 and employs around 200 people at the complex, which houses studio and recording facilities for film, television and radio.
Roger Thomas, chairman at Cooke & Arkwright said that there had been considerable interest in the property from a wide range of property and investment companies. “Interest was very strong and the minimum asking price was easily exceeded,” he said.
