Contemporary development raises benchmark in Bridgend

Specialist graphic design & printing company Kall Kwik run by Bridgend businessman Ivan Toms, has become the first tenant to move into CBL’s superb new development of shops and offices on Derwen Road, and is soon to be in good company.

Mr Toms was not the only client to be impressed by the “high quality of modern fixtures and workmanship in the building” - the remaining space has already been fully let by CBL’s agents, Cooke & Arkwright of Cardiff and Watts & Morgan of Bridgend.

Kall Kwik, which has been based in Bridgend for nine years and previously operated out of Wyndham Street, has taken the larger ground floor retail unit at 4 Derwen Road, totalling just over 1300 square feet. “The business has enjoyed continuous growth for the last nine years,” said Ivan, “and as a result we required more space and contemporary premises in order to increase capacity and offer our clients more services. The quality, attention to detail and innovative design, seems to be a trademark of CBL’s properties.”

Nick Hegarty of CBL said that he was delighted with the refurbishment and the rapid success in letting the entire building.  “The premises provide what I believe are some of the best suites of modern offices in Bridgend, at just under 3,800 square feet.  They are superbly fitted, featuring raised floors, hardwood finishes and an extremely light and airy working environment.  We also have plenty of car parking in our secure car park next door.”

Roger Thomas of Cooke & Arkwright said: “The remaining ground floor unit is let to estate agents Nicholsons, and Yell (Yellow Pages) are fitting out 2,400 square feet of the upper floor offices. We have also agreed terms to let the balance of the first floor offices to IT solutions provider, Kelway (UK) Limited, who are moving to Bridgend from London.”

CBL is currently carrying out major adaptation works to its award winning, 1996 Court House development next door, as well as the refurbishment of 4,000 sq ft at the former Bridgend Chest Clinic in Court Road, to be known as Nolton Court.
