Fast growing South Wales law firm RTL has taken full occupancy of all three floors at Waterloo House, Fitzalan Court in Cardiff to accommodate an additional 40 members of staff as part of its ongoing expansion in the capital.

Gamesa Energy UK Limited (GEUK), a subsidiary of Gamesa Energia, one of the world’s largest wind farm developers, has established new headquarters for its UK operations at Cedar Court, the 22,000 sq ft office village built by Robert Hitchins Limited.

Andton Construction has acquired Ty John Penri, an 11,000 sq ft building on St Helen’s Road, Swansea, and is proposing a mixed development comprising a third floor extension, four retail units, a restaurant and 25 contemporary flats.

Number One Kingsway, Cooperative Insurance Society’s £14m, 68,000 sq ft development in the heart of Cardiff overlooking the Civic Buildings and Cardiff Castle has now been fully let. The last floor of just over 10,000 sq ft has been taken by construction consultancy Halcrow.

One of Cardiff’s most respected developers, D Herbert (Builders), has started construction on a new office scheme at St Mellon’s Business Park. Resolven House, which will provide in total 4,500 sq ft of offices, will be completed by the end of this year and constitutes one of the last sites on the original business park. Other occupiers in the area include Lloyds TSB, the Environment Agency, TBI, Vodaphone and Gyrus Medical.

Eastern Business Park in St Mellons, which has been purchased in its entirety by Robert Hitchins Limited, has already secured two new lettings. James Hull Associates has taken a ground floor suite of 1,000 sq ft, alongside Manestream Ltd, an expanding Health & Safety consultancy.

Cosmetic giant, Revlon has taken 7,500 square feet at Brackla House, Bridgend, joining occupiers who include Berry Smith Solicitors and Bridgend County Borough Council in the remaining 12,000 square feet. This office will house the Revlon Technical Services, Finance, Management Information Systems (MIS), Customer Services and Supply Chain teams. Revlon’s head office is based in Highgate, London.

The former United Theological College overlooking the Pier and seafront at Aberystwyth has been purchased freehold for an undisclosed sum by an overseas Family Trust, which has committed itself to the upgrading and refurbishment of the property.
