Richard joined Cooke & Arkwright in April 2007 as a Building Surveyor expanding the firm’s Building Consultancy team based in Bridgend.

Richard holds a first class Honours Degree in Building Surveying from the University of Glamorgan. He is a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and a corporate member of the Association of Building Engineers (ABEng). Richard is also a registered APC Doctor within the Building Surveying Faculty of the RICS.

Richard’s initial introduction into the construction industry started as an Architectural Technician at Nike Design, a local architectural, surveying and engineering practice where he spent seven years whilst attaining his degree. He gained experience in building and land surveying, housing scheme design, architectural drawings for planning and Building Regulation submission. Additionally, Richard was involved in civil and structural engineering drawings for offices, residential schemes, roads and the like.

After a brief spell at Greggs of Treforest as the South Wales/South West Property Manager, he joined the Building Consultancy department at King Sturge in Cardiff. As a Graduate Surveyor, Richard gained experience in all aspects of core building surveying instructions within the industrial, office and retail sectors. Commercial experience was afforded in the South Wales market undertaking dilapidation reports, office refurbishment, contract administration to name but a few.

His current role at Cooke & Arkwright includes a combination of project and professional based work for clients in the industrial, office and residential sectors:
