Lloyd Newland joined Cooke & Arkwright in 2005 as a Senior Building Surveyor in the firm’s Building Consultancy team.
Lloyd is a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and holds an Honours Degree in Building Surveying from Brighton University. He also holds a P402 qualification as an Asbestos Surveyor.
He has worked as a Building Surveyor in South Wales for a number of different practices since 2000 and has specialised in both commercial and residential properties. Previous employers include John Avon & Co, King Sturge, and the Burgess Partnership.
His role within the Building Consultancy team includes work covering the preparation of building and condition surveys of extensive portfolios, commercial units and residential properties; acting in the role of Architect and Project Manager on various social and private construction, new build, conversion and maintenance projects; preparation of building, condition, maintenance and dilapidation reports; and in programming works relating to shop and light industrial fit out at both small and large scale.
He has provided building surveying advice to a wide range of public sector bodies including stock condition surveys and refurbishment schemes for Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council, Torfaen County Borough Council and a number of Housing Associations; has acted as Project Manager in pre and post contract services on projects for Swansea University for their architectural awarding winning library, as well as providing similar services for various private sector companies and property owners.
