We are committed to conducting all our business in an ethical and socially responsible manner. As a Welsh employer we recognise that the majority of our business is drawn from the communities in which we operate and our dedicated staff work hard to ‘give back’.

Our Community

Our Social Committee proactively encourages staff to take part in all sorts of fundraising events. Over recent years we have run marathons, baked cakes, climbed mountains from Kilimanjaro to Pen Y Fan, and cycled around Wales to raise money for local charities including Wales Air Ambulance, Tenovus, Ty Hafan and Cancer Support. We raised £3,000 for our first chosen charity, LATCH.

We have supported the Sherman Theatre’s Peter Pan appeal enabling children across South Wales to attend the annual Christmas pantomime.

We have also carried out two beach clean-ups, picking up an assortment of plastic and litter from our beautiful coastline as part of our commitment to helping to protect the environment (demonstrated by our ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification). Members of staff volunteer to undertake an annual exercise that actively helps to make a difference.

Velindre Cancer Centre provides specialist cancer services to over 1.5 million people in South East Wales and beyond. It is one of the largest cancer centres in the UK. Each year over 5,000 new referrals and around 50,000 new outpatient appointments are seen by them. Velindre employs over 670 staff with an annual budget of over £49 million.

Velindre Cancer Centre is a division of Velindre NHS Trust.

The disposal of 120,000 square feet on the Heads of the Valleys Industrial Estate was a particularly satisfying task. The building had been rebuilt following fire damage, and Jeremy Symons and his team were successful in identifying a nearby purchaser looking to expand. The sale price, at £4,000,000, represented a record sale price for a property of this nature in the area, and with great tenacity and endeavour was completed in a timely fashion. An excellent result.
